Emma Jean Watson

Emma Jean Watson

A most recent work inspired by a love of flowers and an inherited vase, created under the gifted guidance of Marcia Fouquet, director of the Great Falls Art Center. Jean initially found her talent at the side of a self-taught relative, Lilian Archer Jones, at a oceanfront home on the New Jersey shore. While still raising a family of four daughters she went on to enhance her slills at the Studio of David Boyd in Leonia, NJ until his retirement. For a period her tutelage continued with the Ridgewood (NJ) Art Guild, and thence to studying with the renowned Richard Botto.

Jean attributes each of her mentors with influencing different aspects of her work, and is appreciative of the depth and understanding they have imparted. "Reflecting with palette and brush is one of the great joys of my life" states this artist enthusiastically.

Emma Jean Watson and her husband, Dirk, have resided in Reston, Virginia since 1995.

Flowers
Watson painted these flowers to express both their vibrant colors and their lush qualities. Her loose techniques are inspired by the impressionists whose art she loves. This painting size 16" by 20" is available for $300.00.
