About Us (Mission Statement)

The Great Falls Art Center (GFAC) was founded in 1982 as a non-profit community service organization. The purpose of the GFAC is to promote the Visual Arts through art education and exhibitions in the Great Falls area and nearby areas of Fairfax County, VA.

The GFAC provides year-round weekly art classes in drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture and art history for children, teens, adults and senior citizens.

The GFAC also sponsors a Summer Art Camp for children ages 6 and up through teens. This popular program runs for 8 weeks in July and August.

In addition to professionally taught classes, the GFAC holds a monthly Fine Art Series for community residents and artists who enjoy learning about the Great Artist Masters and the Great Art Movements through the ages.

The GFAC sponsors regular exhibitions of members works. Some of our artists wish to sell their works and some choose to hang them in their homes for family, friends and guests to see. The GFAC offers excellent oil painted reproductions of any famous master painting the buyer may wish to have.

The GFAC receives support from members, local organizations, businesses, individuals, and corporations. Donations to GFAC are tax deductible. Activities of the GFAC are supported in part by the Arts Council of Fairfax County.
